Tin-cured silicone, also known as condensation-cure silicone, is a type of silicone rubber that uses a tin-based catalyst to initiate the curing process. This silicone cures at room temperature and is commonly used in applications like mold making, casting, and prototyping. It is valued for its flexibility, ease of use, and ability to capture fine details. However, tin-cured silicones may exhibit slight shrinkage over time and generally have a shorter shelf life compared to platinum-cured (addition-cure) silicones.
